The ten-finger method
Touch typing (the American blind ten-finger typing method) is a way of entering text on a keyboard or typewriter without looking at the keys while using all ten fingers
Learning to type quickly and accurately is only possible with a strict distribution of keyboard keys among all ten fingers. In the English layout, the fingers (except the thumbs) are initially placed on the keys «A S D F» and «J K L ;»
The computer keyboard is designed in such a way that it allows you to perform all necessary operations: typing, editing, and formatting text without using a mouse, which becomes even faster with some practice
Tip: Try not to press keys with the wrong fingers, as this may significantly reduce your typing speed later, even though it may seem easier at first
When doing exercises, you should aim for complete automatism, when typing becomes purely mechanical and you press keys in the correct sequence without thinking about their position on the keyboard
Tip: For more effective learning of the ten-finger method, practice daily
The practical training course is based on a series of exercises, the completion of which involves typing specially selected text for practice. Move on to the next exercise only after meeting the required typing quality criteria
